I decided that, for my double page spread story, I would use a black and white image with the subject slightly to the left so that I could use the background of the image as a background for my text. For this image I increased the contrast and also tweaked the levels and curves to give my photograph the desired look.
The subject in this image was slightly out of focus therefore, to help combat this, I used the blur tool in Photoshop to blur out the background slightly, making my subject stand out more. I have also tweaked the black and red curves to give the image a darker tinge to it.
For this image I used the smudge tool on the background, working from the centre outwards, and once again slightly changed the curves and levels. This would be a good photograph for an album cover
I changed the subjects jacket to black as i thought this may suit my magazines genre a little better, i left a slight grey line around the outside of the subject to help him stand out from the background.
